Deeper Reasons to always Pray over Your Food

For many persons, there is a reason why you are reading this article now, kindly implement the point that inspires you in it. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge,” says our loving God (Hos.4:6.) Gratefulness and careful vigilance are necessary arms that sustain healthy living, longevity, and sanctity.

The blessing of food used to be taught in the family. Children learn this from their parents, often by observation. In a world, increasingly secularized, where some parents no longer believe and where prayers are removed from schools, persons consume food without blessing them. The blessing of food is very important. It is not only a sign of gratitude to God (which is the main point) but also it removes impurities from food (spiritually and physically.) I will not want to share many encounters and revelations here; the point is that, by negligence, persons have introduced physical and spiritual illnesses through the conduit of food. The physical and spiritual realms are intrinsically fused so that one can hardly conjecture a dividing line. Food can transport manipulations that inundate the operational abilities of one’s spirit.

I respect what the food and drug departments of different governments of countries are doing to ensure that their citizens eat healthy food. But I must assure you that there are many things that cannot be detected by scientific censoring. Do not think that most of the food and drink producing companies have the interest of God in their agenda nor understand the dynamics of satan whose mission “to steal, kill, and destroy” is evident in many stolen health and careless deaths. In this tireless mission, he has cooperators as well. It is unwise and negligent to gulp the finished products into their bodies without praying. There is a price unpalatable for neglecting any principle, including the neglect of applying graces of sanctification over food and drink. We have the remedy; it is praying in the Names of Jesus before eating, “I came that you may have life and abundantly.” Only in His Name do we find sanctification of food, “In My Name… when they drink deadly poison it will not hurt them at all” (Mk. 16: 18.) Even as I write this note, I was privileged to experience the reaction in the spirit realm; in the Divine Will, the Lord has a way to allow a writer see the rage of the adversary, especially when it will help a lot of persons, forestalling illnesses and spiritual manipulations.

And as I was meditating on this point above, these two citations stimulated a spark within my soul, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies” (I Cor.6:19f) And another passage showcased concomitantly, “Then use it to anoint the tent of meeting, the ark of the covenant law, the table and all its articles, the lampstand and its accessories, the altar of incense, the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and the basin with its stand.  You shall consecrate them so they will be most holy, and whatever touches them will be holy” (Ex.30:26f.)

Dear Friend, this is the context of the two passages: For anything to be used in the temple of God (even in our churches) it is blessed. Our bodies are God’s temple. It is negligent to swallow into our bodies unblessed substances, that is to eat without praying.
